I’ve had this unit a week now. Reason for purchase- I had a leaking chimney which has now been removed and so had some dampness in the walls which had cause humidity levels to remain high for over a year since it’s removal. I would find my windows constantly covered in condensation which when touched would cascade down my window and instantly reappear once wiped so a vicious circle. Also as I would walk upstairs the cold and damp air would be startlingly cold to the point bed linen would always feel damp and mould spores were appearing under windows sills in other rooms causing my children to cough constantly! The heating would never warm upstairs and yes my windows would be open during the day in the hope the dampness would circulate out of the windows. My home 3 storey, 3 bedroom, 3 living rooms, 2 bathrooms and a utility room with large kitchen. This machine is a godsend!!!! It has stopped the damp cold feeling as you enter upstairs and the musty smell is virtually gone. I left the unit on full blast in the hallway with the doors open for 3-4 days and nights. Machine was running for 3 hours and the 2l bucket was almost full. I empty it every morning and every afternoon now it’s on eco (auto) mode now and still it’s running constantly as it’s picking up in its sensors that the humidity level is still to high.Pros-1-the unit is easily movable even though it weighs 13kg it’s not that heavy.2- it actually works!3- self instructed once placed on auto mode4-switches off if water bucket is too full5- as far as I can tell it’s not using that much electricity6- long enough cable to reach around a chest of draws and a bit more.7-easy to remove the bucket no clips or manoeuvring once you get the jist it removes at an outward angle.8-bucket has a built in handle at the top for easy carrying to the sink to emptyCons1- bucket is not completely sealed around the top. Seems mine has been half glued in the seam before it’s been screwed together and the lip doesn’t quite meet on one edge (hope it doesn’t drip when bucket is full) I’m pretty sure amazon would help if that is the case.2- on full power the unit is quite loud like a vending machine ( noise can be quite high pitched) mixed with a summer fan on full blast.3- eco mode is similar to full mode just a little quieter as you can’t hear the fan but the buzzing/high pitched humm is still there.4- the digital lights on the front are bright when the lights are off and your trying to go to sleep even when it’s in the hallway it lights it up bright blue. Post it note would probably sort that tho or blue tack.5- when the bucket is removed the water that’s collected inside the unit will still dribble in bursts so you have to be quick to empty or you will find you have a small puddle to contend with.6- you can’t see inside the bucket so your unable to know if you need to empty it before going to bed or going out for the day without removing the bucket and feeling how heavy it feels.A level window would be a great feature in myOpinion.7- the door to get to the bucket feels flimsy so I’m hoping it lasts the duration only the unit as spares and repairs don’t seem cheap on their catalogue.8- additional features like castors or hoses are additional items chargeable £14.99 for wheels and £20 for filters is steep in my opinion considering your paying £199 for the unit in the first place.9- the unit blows out cold air not hot as one review claimed. On full it blows out cold air and it’s slightly warmer that cold on eco mode so don’t believe it’s a heater in combination to the unit. All in all I’m glad I made the purchase, I contacted amazon before purchasing and they assured me they would act as guarantors for the unit for at least a year as it was dispatched and supplied by amazon and bearing in mind their customer service in the past for me it was a deal clincher for me.It’s a unit that works! Has worked! And is currently still working hard to rid my home of excess water through the winter.

I hardly ever leave reviews but this dehumidifier is excellent. The amount of water it pulls from the air is first class. But the reason why I am writing this review is due to the world class customer service. I bought a 3000 series 3 years ago and like most I didn't bother to register the product. The power unit on the device packed in after 3 years, I remembered that I didn't register the product but thought I'd call Ebac customer services anyway. I quickly registered the unit online and then phoned them. To my surprise they said my unit came with a 5 year warranty and sent DPD to collect the unit the next day. They returned the unit in exactly 7 days via DPD and the unit is fully functional again at no cost to me, not even the postage. This is what you call world class customer service and I will be sure to buy another Ebac should the time come.I was ready to splash out another £200 on a new unit since dampness in the house in my opinion causes all sorts of illnesses. I used to get tonsilitis frequently before I bought this unit. I have hardly ever been ill after using this product for the last 3 years (I am not a medical professional, this is just an account of my own experience).I hope this helps someone to choose the right unit for them.
December 21, 2017
Poor function specially in cold nights, although the temperature in side my flat above 20*C, there were a lot of condensations on windows in the morning . Its smart control works only when the humidity level is above 70%. I called the customer service and they have replaced it .The second one came with scratch marks on the socket , greasy marks on the cable, and the front window broken and obviously repaired ,I think it was a refurbished one ,I called the customer service again ,and they again replaced it with another( brand new) one as they said, but it did not as the third one was much louder ,the front window filled of dust and vibrates when its works ,I have to put it in angle to make the noise disappear. I returned them for a refund which is the only positive thing .

The 3850e model is a refrigerant dehumidifier. Like many refrigerant dehumidifiers, this model is suitable for homes in the United Kingdom as it is designed for higher temperatures and humidities.

The Ebac 3850e dehumidifier can pull 21-litres of water from the air per day, which is one of the largest capacities in this list. This particularly useful if you live in a large home, where you need to dry out a large area. Just be aware that the water tank has a capacity of 2.5-litres, which is rather small for a model which can extract a lot of water per day. This is when utilising the drainage feature will come in handy.

If you purchase this model, you must also be aware that it extracts water efficiently at higher temperatures. The 3850e can be placed in rooms with no heating, but it will not remove water at a higher rate than other models in lower temperature. It does come with an Ebac intelligent defrost setting so it can still operate with some efficiency at lower temperatures.

Regarding energy-efficiency this model does operate very efficiently, using less electricity than other dehumidifiers on the market to extract water. So, for those who are looking to reduce costs while using a dehumidifier this model is for you.

Concerning noise, the Ebac 3850e dehumidifier operates with a noise level that reaches 46dB. The noise level shouldn’t be irritating to many; however, there are other quieter models in the market if this is something that concerns you.

One thing to note when considering this model is the weight and dimensions. It weighs 13 Kgs and is 33x51x28 cm in size, which makes it one of the bigger models on this list. There is a carry handle behind the filter on the model which makes it easier to move around.

The Ebac 3850e 21-litre dehumidifier is excellent at extracting water in large homes (4-5 bedrooms) and is very energy-efficient, which helps to reduce costs. It is on the bulky side, which is something to consider.

Had mine for over a year and bought a second one when my Girlfriend's house had a flood. Hers ran almost constantly for 2 months and made a huge improvement. Both cheaper from a national chain and trouble free operation after extensive use. Fairly quiet but probably a bit intrusive for most people if you are in the same room. Can be heard from an adjacent room but not a problem.Performance....18L/day is the maximum theoretical if used in a hot wet room filled with steam. According to my humidity meter, it realistically reduces humidity in an average 5mx4m room with 3m ceiling at around 20 degree temperature from 70-80% to around 40% over 20-24h and removes about one to one and a half tanks of water in that time i.e. 3.5 - 5 L on maximum dial setting. Pro rata, 60% drops to 40% in around 8-12 hours. If the room has damp floors and walls after a flood, it removes much more. The cut off when full works fine on both my units although personally I don't leave them on for more than a day without checking, to be on the safe side. The best way to use it is one room at a time, with doors closed.Although the unit has no heating element, it generally raises the room temperature from 17-18 up to 19-20 degrees after 12 hours. It actually feels like more of a difference due to the lower moisture content in the air. Condensation is virtually eliminated and clothes dry far more quickly. The exterior is fairly robust but the door is vulnerable when open. Emptying the tank is quick and simple but take care not to knock the door and damage the hinges while doing it. If the tank is completely full, take care not to tilt it when removing or it will spill. When the tank is replaced, you occasionally have to tap and move it around slightly if the unit won't turn back on. Its no big deal. The adjustment dial gives only a very rough guide but it does work and makes the condenser and/or the fan switch off and on, to maintain an approximate lower/higher humidity level for economy but you would need a seperate humidity meter to know what that level is. I always leave the fan on high as it uses very little power compared to the condenser. The tank is plastic and although robust overall, the way it is moulded creates some very thin areas at the corners on the base which although tiny, could easily wear through and leak over time. Look through the hole in the top and point the tank base at a strong light source and it becomes obvious. I put a small doubled thickness piece of black insulating tape on each weak point and its problem solved. For me, this unit is a very useful household appliance in a small or average sized home. If you have damp or condensation problems it will make a big difference if you give it time, just don't expect instant results especially if used in large rooms.

Probably the best of the EBAC home dehumidifiers. Seems to be reliable, is quiet, does not rattle or vibrate and the yellow colour looks much better than the insipid white models or the original fake teak effect EBACs. Simple to operate and you can fine tune the performance with the manual control knobs to suit your humidy problems. Works along the line of the original models, a fan blows air over the cooling coils, a humidistat switches it on and off and the condensation drains into a removable bottom tank. A simple float switch shuts things off when the tank is full. The tank is a bit more fiddly to remove than the old models, where the container hinged forward with the bottom lid making it easier to remove. On the Power Dri you have to slide the tank out after opening the lid and it is easy to cause a slight spillage from a full container, my reason for dropping one star off the rating. However, as the whole casing is plastic, it does no damage unlike the old wood effect chipboard cabinets EBAC used many years ago. The more expensive models use preprogrammed electronic, so called smart controls to monitor the machine operation and a pump to move the condensation water to the collecting tank, but these seem to give endless trouble and have no advantage over this simple machine. I use both and have seen no difference in performance, other than regular failure of the electronic version to work properly.

The Ebac Powerdri dehumidifier is a refrigerant model. Which means it is more efficient at extracting water at higher temperatures. This is perfect for heated homes in the United Kingdom.

This model can pull 18-litres of water from the air per day, which is suitable for those who are looking for a dehumidifier to extract water from a 3 – 5 bedroom house. It also quickly pulls water from a heated room, which is excellent for those who need to remove damp from a heated home.

If you’re looking for a dehumidifier that operates in rooms which are not heated, like the garage or conservatory, then we wouldn’t recommend this model. We’d suggest looking at a desiccant model instead which works better in colder temperatures.

The Powerdri dehumidifier is very energy efficient when it extracts water from the air, which makes it cheap to run. This is very useful for those who are looking to reduce their energy bill when running electrical appliances in the home.

Like many dehumidifiers, the Ebac Powerdri comes with a continuous draining option. If you don’t want to use this feature, then the model comes with a sizeable 3.5-litre water tank.

Although the Ebac Powerdri is heavy, weighing 14Kg, it does have castors. These help to move the dehumidifier a lot easier. It also comes with a handle which helps lift the dehumidifier or push and pull it around the house.

Regarding the noise, the Ebac Powerdri is no louder than other models on this list (46dB). However, if you’re easily bothered by noise, there are quieter dehumidifiers which have similar product specs which we’d recommend checking out.

This model has a variety of features, which make it easy to use and operate. It also has two fan speed settings, low and high. The model also comes with a humidistat and auto-setting function which helps you set your preferred humidity level and maintain it.

The Ebac Powerdri is excellent at extracting water from a large heated home and like other Ebac models is energy-efficient. It is one of the largest dehumidifiers on this list, but it comes with castors which make it easier to move around any home.

Dehumidifiers, basically they are all very similar. Ebac seem the best of the bunch however their build quality and quality control are nothing great. We have owned three over the years.Of the three, two arrived not working and had to be sent back for replacement. All last about three years with continuous use and either end up leaking or just stop working. When working they do a good job and condensation does reduce dramatically. This model, 2250e is designed for 2/3 bedroom flat or house and yes it does the job. The boost function is good for drying laundry in the winter months. Noise, all dehumidifiers are noisy. If its downstairs in a small house you will hear it and if you are in a flat you will definitely hear it. They do need to be left on all the time to work efficiently, and the more condensation you have the harder they work so light sleepers be aware! I still feel they are overpriced for what they are. The packaging is not great for a product of this weight and the contents is susceptible to damage in transit. Why do I still buy Ebac? We have had others for both home and office and Ebac despite their faults seem to be the best of the bunch.
January 12, 2018
Bought this to help dry out a place that has recently been damp treated and replastered. It seems to work as expected. Oddly, the instructions were hidden inside the front opening panel, so you had to guess where to look for them. Every time I open the front panel to get to the water container it makes a horrendous 'cracking' noise, as if the plastic is about to break. No idea why. Replacement filters seem to be pretty expensive for what they are, and I have a feeling that I'm being gouged a bit here. The British made thing is one of the reasons why I chose this particular appliance. Overall, I'm happy, and the 2-year warranty is a plus.

Great little machine, pretty quiet but very effective. Made a great difference to the quality of air, feels warmer in the house as not so damp. Also great for drying washing quickly overnight. Wish I'd bought it years ago.
November 24, 2017

The Ebac 2650e 18-litre is a refrigerant dehumidifier, designed for higher temperatures and humidities. These types of dehumidifiers are especially useful for heated homes.

This model can pull up to 18-litres of water from the air each day. The claim by Ebac is based on a temperature of 30ºC and 85% relative humidity over 24 hours. It’s unlikely that you’ll ever reach these temperatures (unless you like to live in the sun) in your home. To be honest, it isn’t the best model for extracting water from the air in normal and lower temperatures. If you’re looking to remove water quickly, in a medium-large home, you might be better dehumidifiers on this list like the Ebac Powerdri and 3850e models.

The 2650e 18-litre model uses less energy than many other Ebac dehumidifiers on this market — great if you’re looking to keep costs low.

Be aware that the 2650e 18-litre dehumidifier is louder than other models, so this is something to be mindful of before you buy. It will irritate those who are looking for a quieter dehumidifier; we’d recommend looking into a different model.

The model comes with many notable features, and these include the Smart Control technology which works similarly to a humidistat, which controls the humidity levels of a room by monitoring it and turning off and on. It also comes with Ebac’s patented Intelligent Defrost setting, which stops the water freezing when its pulled from the air.

The water tank holds 2.5-litres, which is a considerably sized tank but if you want to use the continuous drainage feature, then this can be used on this model. A helpful feature if you don’t want to be changing the water tank all the time.

Overall, the Ebac 2650e 18-litre is energy efficient, but water extraction and noise don’t compare to other dehumidifiers on this list or the market. This model is cheaper than others on the market which might attract those just looking to remove moisture from a room or small flat.

Astonished by the reviews here, as I am so happy with mine. It is relatively quiet (for a dehumifier), works brilliantly (and simple to operate) and has cleared the damp problems in my house in less than a month.

Bought directly from Ebac with 5 year warranty.Repaired and replaced many times with the same faults:- Rattling loudly- Leaking- Freezing- Not collecting waterFaults usually develop very quickly on both new and repaired units. Ebac can return a unit with the same fault out of the box.A lot of time wasted on sending it back and forth. No refund from Ebac despite an unusable product.
November 23, 2015
Been running for years and continues to take large amounts of moisture out of the air. Only thing that stops it getting 5 stars is the vibrational rattle when it's running.
August 8, 2016

The Ebac 6200 dehumidifier is a refrigerant type, which means it is better at extracting water from the air in higher temperatures and humidities. The model can remove 25-litres of water from the air per day, which suits large homes with 5+ bedrooms.

It is very energy-efficient when it is extracting water, which is excellent if you want to reduce costs while operating the dehumidifier in your home. It also has many features which help to cut costs, including the auto shut off mode and eco fan speed setting.

The water tank is large and can hold up to 4-litres of water, which means you won’t have to empty it often. If you don’t want to keep having to remove the water tank, there is a continuous drainage mode, but you’ll need to buy a separate drainage kit.

Concerning the weight and size of this model, it is very bulky and heavy. It weighs 14 Kg and is measures 25 x 44 x 60 cm, which is one of the biggest models on the market. There are no castors or wheels which means you cannot move is easily around your home. It does have handles on the top of the model, but its weight means depending on how active you are this might be difficult.

A drawback of this model is that it’s noisy even on the lowest setting — which might irritate those who are in the same room. This is something you’ll need to consider if seriously considering this model if it’s going somewhere in the home out of the way this might not be an issue.

Just like many other Ebac dehumidifiers, the 6200 model comes with many useful features. It comes with Ebac’s patented Intelligent Defrost mode, which stops the water freezing when its pulled from the air. It also comes with a unique audible warning feature which tells users when the dehumidifiers water tank needs emptying.

To conclude, the Ebac 6200 dehumidifier is excellent at extracting water from any home, energy-efficient and comes with many helpful features. It is bulky and slightly noisy, compared to other dehumidifiers, so we’d suggest thinking about where it will go in your home.
