This is an excellent and cheap (and pretty quiet) dehumidifier. I have one running 24/7 in my garage and they last about 2 years when left on continuously.DON'T turn them on and off with a time-switch, you have to turn them off with the off button which allows the heater element to cool down before the fan cuts out. If you repeatedly cut the power at the socket, the heater element will burn out. Extracts about 25L of water a week in my garage. Built in humidistat allows it to cut on and off as required, mostly with the fan running on low when `off` to circulate the air.Have tried many others, including refrigerant types, and this knocks the socks off them all, even a £4k swimming pool one I tried once.Buy this one !NM, Chartered Engineer.Photo shows it draining into a 50L plastic tub (which *is* nearly full), have to empty about every fortnight.

This machine has added "bells and whistles" which I believe greatly reduce its utility compared with a "simpler" product such as the cheaper EcoAir DD322 Simple Desiccant Dehumidifier, 10 L, which I ended up buying to replace it. To be specific the DD322 Classic has a fixed target humidity of around 55% which cannot be changed, so basically it can only be used in a house. Also it should only be turned on and off using the manual switch on the top of the casing so it cannot be controlled by a timer or smart switch. Finally the fan runs all the time it is on, so you cannot tell if it is doing anything useful or not, while it is still consuming a minimum of 40w and making a noise. The only way to see if the thing is dehumidifying or not is to put a meter on the plug and see if it is consuming 40w or 400w. I bought this machine thinking I was buying a premium product, but soon found I had made an expensive mistake. My advice is not to buy it as I cannot think of any reason to choose it rather than the DD322 Simple or the EcoAir DD322 Simple Desiccant Dehumidifier, 10 L, one of which my son lent me (after I had bought this thing) and which I found to be a very good product. My daughter is having a large extension built to her house, and I will pass the otherwise useless DD322 Classic on to her to help dry the place out once they move back in.

So far working as expected.Unit is not heavy - I find it rather quiet - some complain of noise but its a low hum and I use in the spare room for speeding up the laundry drying process during cold/wet winter months. For that its excellent - I can hear it in the same room but not next door or downstairs (we do have fitted carpet) I wouldn't even know it was on.I like it has 2 laundry settings and also timer. usually a 2 hour run on turbo will almost dry the rack if not another 2 hour cycle usually does it.It has taken a lot of moisture out with a load of laundry and the water tank thankfully has a lid so when you are carrying it up/downstairs to empty it will NOT slosh all over the place if full. The tank even has a useful handle when you take it out. That was a concern the last thing you need is to spill it and have to dry the carpet out so it is designed very well for that. All in all pleased with purchased - made sure I read reviews and also the which guide which recommended itIts still new and working well so have no negatives yet and had this a couple weeks. Mostly used for laundry but the spare room we often leave a window open now and then to air it and it was feeling damp but no longer.

After many years of having condensation and mould problems in an old sandstone house, this thing is amazing! Easy to use and pulls a lot of moisture out of the air, particularly during colder weather when the windows are sealed. It's got 3 standard settings, high/low/auto, with auto being recommended by Ecoair as it switches between the high and low settings to get to 55%RH as efficiently as possible. Once it hits the required relative humidity level it switches into low power recirculation mode (30W) until the RH rises again. It also has 2 setting for drying clothes, these just keep drying the air (at high or low power levels) until the unit is switched off, or the timer shuts it down. As I tend to run this for 8 hours overnight on auto anyway, I find this is just as effective at drying a load of washing. The timer allows for 2, 4 or 8 hour operation if you don't want to leave it on permanently. All settings are accessed by a fairly intuitive button setup on the top of the unit. The unit is easy to empty, just pull out the reservoir from the bottom of the unit, unclip the lid and pour. I would recommend doing this before it gets too full, as there isn't much of a seal around the lid. It's also possible to attach the supplied hose to the back of the reservoir and connect it to a permanent drain...unfortunately I've not had had much success with this, the hose keeps slipping off, leading to a sightly soggy bench when I tried it, so I'd recommend either keeping an eye on it or finding some way to better secure the hose if using this option. When I have the windows closed, this will easily condense well over 1 litre of water in an 8 hour period, so my house is now happily condensation free!

The EcoAir DD3 is a Which? Best Buy and is excellent at extracting water from the air as well as being easy to operate.

The DD3 model is a desiccant dehumidifier, which is designed to work in colder temperatures and humidities. This dehumidifier is great at extracting water from colder temperatures and warmer temperatures. So, it’s a great all-rounder.

It can extract up to 10-litres of water from the air per day, which is based on 20ºC temperature and 60% relative humidity conditions maintained for 24 hours. This amount of water extraction comes with drawbacks as the DD3 is one of the noisiest models (42dB) on this list.

If you do want to keep the dehumidifier on all day then this model comes with a 3.5-litre water tank. It isn’t that small so you shouldn’t have to keep emptying the water tank. For those who have a low-level drain near your home, the dehumidifier comes with a continuous drain feature.

The DD3 dehumidifier weighs 8.4kg and is a compact size (18.6 x 41.6 x 55.2 cm). This makes it one of the lighter and portable models on this list but be aware that it doesn’t come with any wheels. It does come with a handle but if you need castors or wheels to move a dehumidifier around then another model may suit your needs.

It uses 670 watts of power, which means that the DD3 dehumidifier isn’t the cheapest to run. There are other dehumidifiers which would cost less to run and could extract the same amount of water (but lack other product features).

There are many features which make using this dehumidifier easy to use. It comes with electronic controls which are a dream to navigate, and you can set the dehumidifier to turn off after two, four or eight hours, which helps to cut costs. The DD3 model comes with a laundry mode, for those who need to dry their clothes inside but don’t have a tumble dryer.

To conclude, the EcoAir DD3 dehumidifier does a fantastic job of extracting water from the air in cold and warm temperatures, is easy to operate and comes with a variety of useful product features. It is one of the noisest models on this list but if you are not in the same room this shouldn’t be a problem.

The EcoAir DD1 Classic MK5 is excellent at extracting water from the air and drying out rooms in any home. The electronic controls and EcoAir features make it easy to use.

The DD1 Classic MK5 model is a desiccant dehumidifier, which means it works more efficiently in colder temperatures and lower humidities. These conditions are perfect for unheated rooms in your home such as the garage or conservatory.

This dehumidifier excels at extracting water from the air at room temperature and in chillier conditions. It can remove 7-litres of water per day, which isn’t a tremendous amount when compared to other models on this list. However, remember that this model is lighter and more compact than other dehumidifiers on this list — which is ideal for small homes or flats.

It also only has a 2-litre water tank, which is quite small when compared to other EcoAir models which are available. This isn’t necessarily a problem unless you wish to remove vast amounts of water from the air per day. There is a continuous drainage feature for those who have access to a low-level drain, which means you won’t have to empty the water tank all the time.

In regards to the energy efficiency, the model uses 580 watts which is slightly less than the EcoAir DD3 but it still less energy efficient than other dehumidifiers on the market. This means it will cost slightly more to run than other dehumidifiers which can run a lot efficiently.

Also, the EcoAir DD1 model only weighs 6.2kg and is very compact and portable (52.6 x 39.4 x 27.6 cm). The dehumidifiers size is convenient for those who want a small dehumidifier in a flat or small house. It also comes with castors and a handle, making it very handy to move around any home.

Concerning the noise, the model is one of the quietest on this list (34dB). It is quiet because this model does not have a compressor which helps to reduce the sound the model makes when it is on.

Just like all the dehumidifiers on this list, the EcoAir DD1 model comes with a variety of features. The model comes with an auto-setting function which helps to maintain your chosen humidity level. It also comes with a filter for those with asthma, as well as an ioniser.

The electronic and digital controls make using this dehumidifier easy and straightforward to navigate. It also comes with a laundry mode for those who do not have a tumble dryer in their home.

In summary, the EcoAir DD1 Classic MK5 dehumidifier is great at extracting water from the air in both room temperature and colder environments. The model is also compact and quiet, useful for any small home. It’s easy to use with simple navigable electronic controls and installed with many EcoAir product features.

Having had issues with damp and mould in our previous flat, when my partner and I moved into our new house with an internal bathroom (no windows, only an extractor fan) we wanted to minimise the risk of any more mould or damp issues. This unit came in at about the right price, with the large tank and built in humidistat really selling it compared to some of the other cheap models. We have ours on the landing just outside our bathroom, and leave it on set to 50% all the time on the lower fan speed setting. It flicks on and off every hour or so just keeping the air free from excess humidity. From the bedroom or the living room, you can hear only a quiet hum which isn't too intrusive. After showers, we open the bathroom door, turn up the fan speed, and force it to run continuously using the 2 hour timer option. It really shines here, eliminating condensation from the bathroom within minutes, and dries our towels which we hang over the banisters in only a few hours. With laundry which we air on the landing, it also does an amazing job, drying them within a day which is a lot quicker than the two or three days it used to take at our flat. The only thing that stops this from being a perfect product is the occasional glitches with the humidistat, where it will either trigger the unit to come on when the humidity hasn't risen above the target, or it will keep running for a long while after it has fallen below the target. Minor complaints. but I'd rather not be using extra energy when it isn't needed. In conclusion though, I'm really pleased with this dehumidifier. It keeps humidity in the house under control, and so far we have had no observable damp or mould to deal with so it's certainly doing its job as a preventative measure - and much better than the far smaller moisture traps you can get from the supermarket. I definitely recommend this product for use in your home to keep moisture levels under control, especially in homes with internal bathrooms.

I've often wondered why our house felt cold -even in hot weather. Due to a mild chest infection, I decided to invest in a dehumidifier the ( Ecoair DC18.) When it arrived I found the system to be very simple and instructions easy to follow. After unpacking and leaving it a while to settle, I plugged it in the electrics and upon pressing the start button got my first moisture reading. It measured 80 parts of water in the air which was considered high and could allow bacteria to breed. I then set the system to 55 a little higher than midway and placed it on single fan four two hours. And Wow! our house began to feel warmer, and that's with no heating on. So it now runs two hours, twice a day = Morning & evening and for that I extract approx. two litres of water over this period. The DC 80, has still, not been able to reach my setting of 55 yet as its still seems to struggle on the 60 mark, but I think after a while, with regular use, it will achieve my setting. Why O Why we've not invested in a dehumidifier before, can only be a lack of thought to solve our problem. I believe the DC 80 with give us a much warmer dryer winter. and perhaps can now look forward to it. If you like to cook fresh vegetables, you know. Sprouts, cabbage etc. Its a must

Excellent product. Fairly quiet and runs as and when required, after sensing the humidity in the air. Easy to follow instructions and clear humidity display. Amazing how much damp it has eliminated. Simple to empty the tank and the lead is long enough to reach the socket about 5.5 feet away. Mine is in the garage, and I did make the mistake in the very cold weather of allowing it to freeze at the back! (There is a warning to avoid this!) I just placed a small fan heater behind it for 30 minutes and it all thawed. I emptied the tank and normal service resumed quickly! Good value for money, very pleased.

The EcoAir DC18 model is an excellent dehumidifier which is relatively cheap to run and is great at extracting water from the air. Just like other EcoAir dehumidifiers, this model comes with a range of features.

This model is a refrigerant (or compressor) dehumidifier; it is designed to be more efficient at room temperature rather than in colder environments. Also, it has a substantial 18-litre extraction rate per day. Although the extraction rate is based on conditions of 30°C and 80% humidity, so don’t expect this rate of extraction all the time.

The DC18 model has a 3-litre water tank which is a decent size and means you don’t have to keep emptying the water tank throughout the day. It also comes with a continuous drainage option, so if you have a low-level drain, it means you don’t have to keep emptying the water tank.

It’s very energy efficient model which comes with many features which help to reduce costs, including the auto-shutoff mode and a 2/4 hour timer mode.

Concerning the model’s weight and size, it is 14.5 kg, and its dimensions are 52.6 x 39.4 x 27.6 cm. It isn’t the most compact model on this list, but it does come with casters (wheels) and a handle which help to move it around.

The DC18 dehumidifier comes with many features including a filter which can help to clean the air while extracting water. It also comes with a laundry mode for those who don’t have a tumble dryer and need to dry clothes in the home.

As well as help features to clean the air and save energy, the model also has an electronic control panel which makes it easy to navigate and use.

In conclusion, the DC18 dehumidifier is brilliant at extracting water from the air in houses which are heated. This model is very energy efficient due to many EcoAir features which help reduce costs. It is one of the largest dehumidifiers on this list, but it comes with casters and a handle which make it much more portable.

Very disappointed in this product, after 11 months it stopped working. I have contacted the supplier through the amazon website twice and not heard anything and directly through the manufacturer website, and several emails to the manufacturer and heard nothing. I would say I am disappointed in the customer service but that would imply that there is some customer service.

(Bought Jan 2016) We always had a problem in a north facing corner bedroom, condensation would be running off the windows and the walls were turning black with mould. We started using this in the evenings and we were amazed at the difference in the room. Not a drop of water on the windows and the walls were bone dry, after bleaching the mould from the walls, I am thrilled that it has not returned. The waterfill unit was full every morning. So impressed we have just bought another for a different room. The Ecoair switches on and off depending on the humidity level detected in the room, therefore becoming more efficient than other units on the market. Have not noticed any significant difference in our electricity bill and could not be happier.

I have an outbuilding which is fortunate to have an electric supply but does have a leaky roof. I have fixed the roof but it is still damp probably from the walls. I was researching dehumidifiers and happily chose this one. Most damp is in winter when it is cold and desiccant humidifiers work at low temperatures dictating my choice. I keep a lot in the outbuilding including a fridge and freezer. I needed it reasonably dry and this certainly does the job. I did consider one with digital humidity readouts etc but this is simple, practical and does the job. I am glad I did not spend a fortune on a fancy digital model, after all they all do one job, extract humidity and this does it very well.

The EcoAir DD122 MK4 dehumidifier, like most EcoAir models, is impressive at extracting water from the air in any home. It is not as energy efficient as other models in this list, or as quiet.

This model is a desiccant dehumidifier and is designed to work in lower temperatures and humidities (e.g. garages and conservatories). It can extract 7-litres of water from the air in 20ºC and 60% humidity conditions. The water tank can hold 2-litres, which is not the smallest, but it will mean it will have to be drained more frequently.

Regarding the energy-efficiency of this model, it comes with two fan modes (economy and turbo) as standard. The economy mode is for everyday use and is designed to be energy-efficient, which can help to reduce costs. Despite this mode, the model uses 580 watts of energy which is a lot more than other dehumidifiers on this list. If you’re looking to reduce costs when running a dehumidifier in the home, we’d recommend looking at the DC18 (which is only slightly more expensive).

The DD122 MK4 model is very lightweight and compact, weighing only 6kg and its size is 17.5 x 29 x 48.5 cm. Unfortunately, this model does not come with casters (wheels). It does come with a handle though, so lifting it is an option if it needs to move around the house.

Concerning the noise levels, this model is one of the quieter dehumidifiers (34dBA). For those who pick up on sound easily, it may be noticeable if you’re in the same room when it is in operation.

Just like other EcoAir dehumidifier models on this list, the DD122 MK4 comes with a variety of features. It has an auto-shutoff and continuous drainage features, reducing the need to check up on the model when it is on all day. The anti-tilt protection helps to minimize spillage, and it also comes with a laundry mode as standard.

The DD122 MK4 model comes with a rotary dial control panel which is easy to use and navigate. It allows you to set the humidity level and control what modes you want to place the dehumidifier.

To summarize this review, the EcoAir DD122 MK4 dehumidifier does an excellent job of extracting water from the air in colder environments and is very lightweight and compact. It is not the most energy-efficient when compared to other models which can extract the same amount of water from the air.

Having reviewed several options to reduce the humidity and damp in our flat, I went with the EcoAir DC12. There are a plethora of devices on the market, both passive and active. The difference really comes down the speed at which the device can extract moisture from the air, the level of control you have over the settings, robustness and filtration levels. So how does this rate? Very well. We have a 2 bedroom flat and the windows were almost completely covered in condensation. Wiping them down or opening the windows worked okay, but the air was still very humid and a quick google on humidity levels will show you this isn't a healthy way to live whilst indoors. This unit works very quickly. Upon switching it on, the device showed an 80% humidity level. Given that humidity monitors can run into the £1,000's it's probably a rough estimate. Even so within 30 mins, the first trickles of water poured into the catchment tray and within 90 mins the humidity levels fell to 50%. You could tangibly feel the difference in the air quality and we were able to reduce the thermostat by 2 degrees C. So, despite this unit using energy, it's probably already paying for itself. The unit feels robust and is easy to use. Noise levels are similar to an oven fan running. Neither is quiet, but on the lowest setting its mostly unobtrusive, the higher setting sounds like a normal desk fan running and is quite obvious. We set the device to run for 2hrs each day, which does a good job of keeping the humidity down and the windows clear. Overall this seems a great device and relatively inexpensive when considering the improvements it has made to the air quality. My only gripe is it doesn't seem to be able to get the humidity level down below 50%, but given how humid the flat gets, I suspect any device would struggle and even at 50% things feel so much better. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone else in the same situation.

Quite a big item so make sure you pay attention to the sizing so that you have a place to put it. However, it is reasonably portable. It comes on wheels to move around if needed as well. There is a timer mechanism which I find very handy as well. While there is a humidity indicator on the device I bought a cheap separate humidity monitor to monitor the impact of the dehumidifier in various parts of the kitchen. It also helps with getting an optimal position so that it has the biggest impact.I have it in my kitchen which, in winter, is prone to excessive humidity and so mould can start to creep into corners and such like. This dehumidifier has done a good job of reducing the amount of humidity in the kitchen when in use and there has been a huge reduction in mould appearing now. So very happy with the product.Easy to remove the water catchment tray and throw the water away. It is quite interesting to see how much water is actually extracted from the air.

Great value for money. It's nice to look at (unlike some dehumidifiers), the noise is low and pleasant like a background fan, it's easy to move around and it really works. We're surprised by the amount of water it collects in 24 hours and find it very satisfying to empty it out. The air quality in the house has improved and we're no longer fighting mould off the walls and bathroom ceiling. We used it 24/7 for the first few weeks, moving it around the house after a few days in each room, but now we only need to use it after showers or if we're drying clothes inside. We did notice a small increase in our electricity bills the first few months, but it's worth it for the results and our long-term health.

The EcoAir DC12 model is an excellent all-rounder dehumidifier. It is one of the heavier models on this list but comes with casters which make it easy to move around the house. It is efficient at extracting water from the air in heated homes or rooms.

It is a refrigerant dehumidifier, which means it is efficient at extracting water in room temperature environments. The model can remove 12-litres of water from the air per day, which is ideal for those who live in a small home or flat. The DC12 comes with a sizeable 3.5-litre water tank, which means you don’t have empty it all the time.

As already mentioned this is one of the heavier models when compared to other dehumidifiers on this list, weighing 10.5 kg. It does come with casters (wheels), so it is easy to move around a home or flat.

The energy-efficiency of this model is quite high due to to the number of features (low fan setting, auto-shutoff etc.) which help to reduce how it uses. It also runs using 230 watts of energy, which is considerably less when compared to other models on this list. The DC12 model is definitely for those who want to keep running costs low.

Concerning the noise levels, it is slightly louder than other models on this list (41dBA). The noise levels are at the same level as a computer running, which is something to be aware of when purchasing any dehumidifier.

The DC12 dehumidifier comes with a continuous drainage feature, but this option may not be for everyone especially if you live in a flat. It does come with a filter, which helps to clean the air and help those who suffer from asthma or allergies. The handy laundry mode helps those who need to dry their clothes in a flat.

Just like other EcoAir dehumidifiers, this model comes with an easy to use electronic control panel and LED digital display. It makes using this model a dream when choosing your selected setting.

To conclude, the EcoAir DC12 dehumidifier is ideal for those who want to reduce mould or damp in a small heated home or flat. It’s very energy efficient, and like all EcoAir models, it comes with a range of helpful features.
